Almost 450 people work for Spectrum, so things don’t stand still for long. And, because we're constantly expanding and creating new teams to support new service users, we're always looking for people with something to offer us.
Supporting people with autism is not about doing things for them, it's about enabling them to do things for themselves. It’s about motivation, empathy and a consistent approach in how a person is supported. It’s about recognising that each individual is different, and that what works for one person may have the opposite effect with another.
People with autism can sometimes struggle to make sense of the world, its people and the unspoken rules by which we interact with each other.
With your fellow team members you'll help to create an environment which the individuals with autism can make sense of, and which gives them security and the chance to develop their potential.
We need as many different types of people as we have individuals to provide care for. We will provide all the necessary training, and we will enrol you – free of charge – on the NVQ courses that will qualify you to work as a member of one of our support teams.
