The Pearl Centre is a meeting place for people with autism and their families to get information and advice on Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and associated conditions.
The Pearl Centre will be managed by our specially trained Spectrum staff team and volunteers. It will act as an information hub to statutory authorities and signpost to other agencies that can also offer support and help.
We know that the majority of individuals with autism and families with an autistic child benefit from face-to-face support from people who have the experience and knowledge to offer help and advice on how to manage and reduce their child's behaviours.
To contact the Pearl Centre please telephone 01872 278378 or email info@pearlautismcentre.org.
We work in partnership with individuals, parents, support groups, schools, other charities, organisations and statutory authorities.
The Pearl Centre will be registered under the 'safe places' scheme with Cornwall Council. The scheme helps people with learning disabilities deal with any incident that takes place whilst they are out and about in the community - for example harassment, bullying or maybe the person they are meeting fails to turn up.

Spectrum's resource centre for individuals and families living with ASD got off to a tremendous start at its official opening on Tuesday 24th April 2012.
Over 50 guests, including professionals, families and Spectrum staff, enjoyed exploring the surprisingly extensive offices of the Pearl Centre, before a blessing was given by the Rt. Revd. Tim Thornton, Bishop of Truro.
Spectrum's President Lady Mary Holborow DCVO spoke of her 12 year association with the charity, commenting on the many facets of Spectrum's operation and saying how fortunate Cornwall was to have a well-established charity supplying such good services to 'those less fortunate than ourselves'.
During the opening ceremony CEO Mary Simpson outlined further exciting plans ahead, which include a prestigious art auction being hosted by the Saatchi Gallery in London on 3rd July. The auction will start the fundraising ball rolling for Spectrum's next major development project, the SEA Centre (Spectrum Education and Art), a multi-million pound project comprising an education hub and a number of residential/respite homes to be built in Cornwall.
The Pearl Centre will be manned by a team of Spectrum staff during normal office hours. It is a resource centre which the public can access by phone, email or by dropping in to pick up a wide range of information on assessment, diagnostic processes, training and signposting on ASD. There are a number of offices, a chill-out/family play room and in time a library/resource room and a computer suite will be installed for visitors wishing to conduct their own research on the condition.
