Silverdale is a sensitively renovated early 19th century house near the heart of the historic market town of Redruth. It consists of four purpose-built flats which have been finished to a high and exacting standard. The town benefits from good public transport routes and has a large number of high street shops and public amenities and is a short distance away from a major educational campus and a large leisure centre.
Silverdale is aimed at those who need a single service provision with the opportunity to socialise in the communal areas. Silverdale provides support and care for up to four individuals and is laid out with three upstairs flats and one downstairs. Three of the flats consist of a large bedroom, bathroom with bath or shower, and a lounge/dining area with a kitchenette. The fourth flat has a spacious bedroom which can also be used as lounge/dining area with a separate kitchenette area and bathroom. All flats have telephone points and internet access points for those that require them.
There is a main kitchen downstairs, a communal dining room and living room to encourage social interaction.
There is a large garden at the front of the house for the upstairs flats, and the downstairs flat has its own separate garden at the side of the house
The staff team has an on-going training programme which is designed to meet the needs of the service users within Spectrum. Training is monitored and routinely refreshed to ensure that all team members are working to the same consistently high standards and that each service user is safe, healthy and happy. All team members work to person-centred planning principles to ensure that the service users’ own aspirations and needs are understood and fulfilled.
