Throughout our 30 years’ our adult service have developed to reflect the changing needs of the individuals we support. This is due to our expertise and by simply listening to views and aspirations of each person.
We support individuals in an innovative way and work hard to understand each service user’s aspirations, and we use individualised lifestyle development plans and person-centred planning to enable them to reach their personal goals.
We work alongside the individual to understand what their goals and aspirations are, what they like doing and engage them in meaningful activities, encourage healthy lifestyle choices and support them to attend college and work placements. We support the individual to become involved in their community and become a valued member of society.
We have a fully trained staff team who receive autism-specific training in order to understand and manage the effects of autism (with or without a learning disability) and the associated challenging behaviours. We have a team of behavioural experts helping with advice and support when needed. By supporting each individual with a specialist team we ensure that each service we provide is personal and successful.
Working alongside our children and young people’s services, we provide a smooth transition through to adult services. Often, key team members transfer to the new service with them.
We have strong working relationships with the Care Quality Commission, service purchasers, the Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults panel, local authorities and colleges. We also have close ties with other charities and local employers; these help us to identify ways in which our service users can make positive and meaningful contributions to the community.
