We provide residential, respite and education for children between 11 and 18 years old. We aim to give each child a safe, healthy preparation for adulthood that's specific to their individual needs.
We encourage positive and healthy lifestyles and aim to work with each individual so that they can reach their full potential. We understand that parents know their childs’ needs more than anyone else and we work alongside parents and guardians to ensure that we provide services for their offspring which are relevant and nurturing. Each child determines their lifestyle using person-centred planning and by making choices about their lives.
We provide positive environments in which to learn, grow and improve their existing skills and adapt the way in which we communicate to ensure that their wishes are heard and understood. As we are based in Cornwall we encourage fun and challenging activities, space to walk and explore their surroundings and keep active!
We provide support and communication through a range of approaches, including Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and other visual aids, social stories and applied behaviour analysis. Our school, Three Bridges, provides specialist education.
We work well with Ofsted, local schools and colleges, and we respond well to requests for help and advice from them and from local authorities. The recognition of family needs is important to us, and we value input from the families of those we support. As young people approach adulthood, we make the transition to adult services as seamless as possible.
