Spectrum’s training department provides statutory training in-house to equip all of our team to work in the Health and Social care sector knowing they have been equipped with a series of tools in their tool box from which they will continue to use in their development within their new roles. Team members at all stages of their employment benefit from specialist training courses many of which have been created within the company and / or in association with partner organisations to enable all staff to take a pro-active approach to supporting our service users within their own chosen community. In addition the organisation uses national training models including Apprenticeships which enable team members to access the New style Diploma awards in both Children’s and Adult Social Care taking training well beyond the required National minimum standards for the industry. Spectrum’s team across all roles have access to the appropriate Children and Adult qualifications, up to level 7, in both Health Care and Management. All new team members undertake a two week’s sandwich course style induction programme integral to the National Common Induction Standards.

There are courses in which our service users are actively encouraged able to participate as an integral part of their ongoing personal development.

We deliver, as an integral part of Cornwall’s multi-agency teams courses including CAMAT and Equality & Diversity training to other local Statutory and Non-Statutory Organisations while continuing to provide access to specialist training (including autism awareness training) to other organisations as a part of our public benefit undertaking. Spectrum sells training and development courses into other organisations to meet their individual needs.

The Training Department has been recognised at a National level with members of the training team recently winning prestigious Regional and National awards from both City & Guilds and ILM. As centres for both City and Guilds and ILM awards from teaching qualifications through Health and Social Care and Management Diplomas our training has been externally verified and shown to be of a consistently very high standard.
